Students to travel to Mongolia, Estonia with Fulbright program
Dilyara Maganya MBA ’16 and McKinley Weaver ’17 are the eighth and ninth Seattle Pacific graduates, respectively, to receive a Fulbright award since 2011. Maganya completed an MBA in SPU’s School of Business, Government, and Economics and will travel to Estonia for the year, beginning this fall. Weaver graduated in 2017 with a linguistics and cultural studies major, and an English creative writing minor. He will spend the year teaching English at Mongolia State University of Arts and Culture. The Fulbright program is a highly competitive scholarship program that facilitates international education exchange around the world for students and scholars.
New study abroad options for students
SPU students will have 40 additional study abroad options beginning Autumn Quarter 2017. Partner Programs, hosted by locations such as University of Glasgow and AIFS Study Abroad in Athens, Greece, allow SPU students to receive their SPU financial aid as they study abroad for a full semester. “We strategically picked diverse locations and programs that represented our majors,” explains Gail DeBell, study abroad director at Seattle Pacific.
