BEGIN
BEGIN, an acronym for Build, Engage, Give, Inspire, and Nurture, is a student-led organization established in 1999 at Seattle Pacific University's School of Business, Government, and Economics. It stands to foster next generation leaders who advance human flourishing through service in business, government, and civil societies.
Membership Application
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is the national honorary society for students and professionals in accounting, finance, and information systems. Activities at SPU's chapter include visits from professors in the School of Business, Government, and Economics, as well as from local professionals.
International Sustainable Development Association
The International Sustainable Development Association was created as a way to link students with professionals who work within the field of development in all aspects, from business and government to non-profits and NGOs. We want to connect fellow students to related internship and job opportunities as well as engage in topical conversations about sustainability.
Political Union
SPU's Political Union is a bipartisan, student-run political think tank aimed at providing an effective atmosphere for discussion of political affairs both locally and nationally.
Student Progressive Network
Students at SPU who are passionate about progressive issues and hold events for the purpose of student education and debate.
Seattle Pacific University Student Investment Fund
Students learn about investing by investing. The SPU Student Investment Fund is a student club that actively invests a portion of SPU’s capital in various markets, learning how to maximize its return, thereby gaining experience in this important branch of the finance discipline.
Beta Gamma Sigma (ΒΓΣ) is the international honor society for business programs accredited by AACSB International — the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Each spring, our top undergraduate and MBA students are identified and invited to be inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society chapter at SPU. Beta Gamma Sigma is the business equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa in the liberal arts and sciences. We are proud to recognize our top scholars in ΒΓΣ.
Pi Sigma Alpha (ΠΣΑ) is the national Political Science honor society. The Alpha Kappa Xi (ΑΚΞ) chapter at SPU was chartered in 2015, following the merger of the Department of Political Science and Geography with the School of Business and Economics to form the School of Business, Government, and Economics. The charter class of the ΑΚΞ chapter was inducted on May 19, 2016.
In 2016, the School of Business, Government, and Economics received its charter for chapter Mu of Washington of Omicron Delta Epsilon (ΟΔΕ). The International Honor Society for Economics.
