Beginning in 2020, Seattle Pacific University will offer 50 percent off tuition for eligible community college students in the City of Seattle’s new Seattle Promise program. SPU is the first university to announce a direct pathway from community colleges to enrollment.

The nationally acclaimed speaker is among the nation’s most prominent anti-racist essayists and author of the best-selling memoir, White Like Me: Reflections on Race From a Privileged Son. His talk about politics in America today will be followed by a panel discussion with SPU faculty and a book signing.

Seattle Pacific University announced three donations totaling more than $1.9 million in an ongoing campaign to expand its nursing program. The Norcliffe Foundation, M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, and Lynwood and Karin Swanson, parents of two SPU alumni, made the commitments to help meet the growing demand for increasingly skilled and clinically competent nurses across the region.

For the third year in a row, Seattle Pacific is the only private university in the Pacific Northwest to make the U.S. News & World Report's Best National Universities list.
