Theatre Scholarships

Scholarships

The Theatre Department awards 10 or more $1,500 FPA Theatre scholarships each year. These are merit-based, non-need-based, scholarships that are renewable up to four years based on a student’s entry to Seattle Pacific and are stackable with any other merit scholarship offered by the University. You do not need to major in Theatre to receive these scholarships, but you will be expected to contribute consistently to the Theatre program, onstage and backstage.

All theatre scholarships are awarded by an audition. Although all prospective and current students may audition, a theatre scholarship can be awarded only to students who have been admitted to Seattle Pacific. Auditions are for theatre scholarships only; you are not required to audition for entry into the Theatre program.

Information about applying and auditioning for scholarships

SPU FPA Theatre Scholarship Requirements

Recipients must meet the following criteria each year to maintain their FPA scholarship:

  • If you are a performance-based theatre scholarship recipient, you are required to audition for all SPU Theatre productions for each academic year that you are receiving a scholarship, maintain availability to be cast for each production, and accept casting if offered a role.
  • If you are a production-based theater scholarship recipient, you must participate in Production Practicum and be available for production crews each quarter of the academic year that you are receiving a scholarship.

SPU Endowed Theatre Scholarships

The Theatre Department also awards a limited number of endowed scholarships annually to SPU Theatre students who are currently attending and actively involved in department productions. Applications for consideration are distributed during Winter Quarter and scholarships are awarded during Spring Quarter.
