SPU sophomore Joe Miller recently won the prestigious “Jury Award” at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. His documentary, “From the Eyes of Hope,” tells the stories of young people living in the Israeli and Palestinian sections of Bethlehem. The National Film Festival for Talented Youth is the world's largest youth film festival, held annually in Seattle.
Joe and his friend, sophomore Anna Medearis from Taylor University, created this film to tell the story of hope among the young people in the Middle East. He traveled to the Middle East with the Medearis family to create the film. SPU freshman Marie Medearis helped with some of the artwork in the film. Joe is majoring in film, photography, and marketing.
