Chinese Poets Visit SPU

Two Chinese poets, Xi Chuan and Zhou Zan, are on a six-city reading tour of the United States, including a stop at SPU on Friday, September 30, 9:30–10:50 a.m. in Cremona 102 (The new classroom building next to First Free Methodist Church.) The tour celebrates the new bilingual anthology Push Open the Window: Contemporary Poetry From China published by Copper Canyon Press. Xi Chuan is a leading Chinese poet who has published five collections of poetry and founded the literary magazine Qingxiang (Tendency), and now serves as editor of Dangdai Gouji Shitan (Contemporary Poetry International). Zhou Zan edits Wings, a journal of contemporary Chinese poetry written by women.
