Salvation of a "Sinister Kid"

The 2012 Walls Lecture, featuring School of Theology Professor Rob Wall and the Reverend Anthony Robinson as a respondent, is Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in First Free Methodist Church, Fine Center. Wall is the Paul T. Walls professor of Scripture and Wesleyan Studies.

The lecture will focus on Romans 7:14-25. “This passage has long been a storm center of Protestant interpretation, especially as it relates to the gospel of justification by faith alone. Does this passage realistically describe the spiritual frustration of the believer who knows what God wants but is unable to obey God? Or does the argument of Romans require a different identity of the "I" character of Chapter 7, more in line with Wesley's "scripture way of salvation?” This year's Walls Lecture responds to these questions in a way that seeks to encourage our life with God.

This event is free and wheelchair accessible.
