SPU alumna Doris Brougham, whose dynamic ministry in Taiwan has brought the gospel and the English language to millions of people, is on tour in the United States with the Heavenly Melody singers. She formed the group in 1963, three years after she founded the Taiwan-based Overseas Radio and Television, Inc. (ORTV).
ORTV is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel with Chinese speakers throughout the world through media, music, and education. Today, the organization reaches millions of people in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Europe, Brazil, Canada, and the United States through radio and television shows, magazines, and music. Heavenly Melody, acknowledged as Taiwan's first professional Christian music ministry team, has produced 21 albums and 200 original compositions.
In 2002, Brougham and ORTV were featured in SPU’s magazine, Response.
