Award-Winning Poet Jennifer Maier

Award-winning poet and SPU Professor of English Jennifer Maier will read from her new poetry collection on Friday, February 7, 7 p.m. in the SPU Art Center Gallery. Her latest work, Now, Now , is part of the 2013 Pitt Poetry Series. Her first poetry collection, Dark Alphabet, won the Crab Orchard Review First Book Award, and was named one of the “Ten Remarkable Books of 2006” by the Academy of American Poets. Maier’s poetry has appeared in numerous literary journals, including Poetry, New Letters, and American Poetry Review, and has been featured on Public Radio International’s “The Writer’s Almanac.”

The reading is part of the Fan Mayhall Gates Writers Series honoring longtime SPU English Professor Fan Gates.
