A final gathering of the Seattle Pacific University and Tent City 3 communities will take place on Thursday, March 5, 7 p.m. in the Student Union Building, 315 West Bertona Street on campus. Tent City 3, which moved to SPU in mid-December, will relocate to Shoreline Free Methodist Church on Saturday, March 7.
The Thursday event, titled “What We Learned: Debriefing and Next Steps,” will include testimonies from SPU students and staff as well as TC3 residents. Both groups will offer ideas for ongoing engagement.
A sampling of joint activities between the two groups included “Power Poetry” events, game nights, a Super Bowl party, foot care clinics offered by SPU nursing students, and weekly meals. TC3 residents were invited to attend campus lectures, theatre productions, resumé and interview skills workshops, concerts, and worship and athletic events.
