Van Duzer Named Provost

Seattle, WA - Seattle Pacific University President Daniel J. Martin today announced the appointment of Jeff Van Duzer as provost. Van Duzer has served as dean of SPU’s School of Business and Economics since 2001, as well as professor of business law and ethics.

“Jeff is a proven leader, not only on our campus but around the country,” says Martin. “His preparedness, perspective, and ability to lead the university into a new provost structure will benefit the mission of Seattle Pacific and the student experience.”

Prior to joining SPU, Van Duzer held the position of partner-in-charge for the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine, a national business and litigation law firm. He earned his J.D. at Yale Law School.

Today’s announcement marks a change in SPU’s leadership structure to a provost model. As provost, Van Duzer will oversee the student experience at SPU, including academics, student life, athletics, and university ministries.

Van Duzer assumes the role of provost February 1, 2013.
