From the President

I am pleased to share with you the Year in Review, which celebrates the accomplishments of the alumni, students, faculty, and staff of Seattle Pacific University. It highlights how the greater community of SPU is making a difference in our world, bringing hope and faith for the future.

At SPU, we continue to be uncompromising in our commitment to academic rigor. We are once again ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report because our dedicated faculty invest in the lives of our students through personal mentoring, research opportunities, and instruction. I am proud of how SPU is organized around and responsive to the needs of each student who makes Seattle Pacific home.

As a university, we endeavor to live out our calling in service to our community in tangible ways as an extension of our faith — from our freshmen volunteering through CityQuest to hosting Tent City 3 on campus again this past year. We are called to seek the welfare of the poor, the marginalized, and the oppressed by building bridges of love, respect, value, and reconciliation. We strive to provide avenues for growth and conversation in addressing the needs of our community, both here and abroad.

I hope that these stories will inspire you to pray for and celebrate SPU. We are grateful to God for blessing us with another year of abundant opportunities to learn, serve, and grow as a community.
