2016 - 2017 Graduate Time Schedule

CPY 7147: Health and Medical Rehabilitation Psychology
Presents a variety of advanced topics in the scientific understanding of psychological and lifestyle factors relevant to management of medical illness and injury-related sequelae. Special attention is given to clinical application of psychological assessment and intervention with medical patients. Interventions of interest include hypnosis and mindfulness-based therapies. There will be discussion of emotional and behavioral factors pertinent to prevention and treatment in the context of major medical conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and chronic pain. Primary and secondary disease prevention will be covered, as well as organizational and community-based approaches to health promotion.
