NUR 6320: Holistic Assessment, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology for the Nurse Generalist
This course integrates advanced concepts of health assessment, pathophysiology and pharmacology to encompass pathogenesis and pathophysiological mechanisms of disease with the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics concepts of physical assessment and disease treatment. Cellular, genetic, pathogenesis, biochemical, socioeconomic, and clinical reasoning are explored to refine critical thinking and appraisal of evidence to assess and manage disease processes. The focus is on pathogenesis, physical assessment, pharmacotherapeutics, including adverse drug reactions/interactions, drugs in special populations and investigating pathophysiologic human responses to disease by analyzing and contrasting clinical case findings, current evidence, and synthesis of relevant diagnostic methods to develop sound clinical judgment.
