NUR 6510: Healthcare and Patient Care Technology
With the proliferation of computer use and information management systems, all nurses must interface with computer technologies. Healthcare delivery involves complex processes that require interdisciplinary teamwork and frequent communication among health care providers using constant changing technology. This course focuses on understanding the theoretical underpinning of technology systems, the impact on patient care and analysis of interface of computer technologies within the health care system. Data base utilization to augment enhanced performance outcomes will be addressed as well as legal, ethical and social issues surrounding technology (may include clinical internship hours).
