BUS 3690: Microfinance |
Prerequisite: ECN 2101. This course explores the origins, growth and challenges of providing financial services (microcredit, savings, insurance and remittances) to the world’s population that lives at the base of the economic pyramid (BOP). The course will explore the fundamentals of microfinance, its growth, criticisms and controversies as well as emerging technology (mobile money and banking, credit scoring) and regulation. |
