James K.A. Smith works "at the intersection of philosophy, theology, and cultural criticism," teaching philosophy at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he holds the Gary & Henrietta Byker Chair in Applied Reformed Theology and Worldview. Smith is an award-winning author of several books. In addition to Desiring the Kingdom and Imagining the Kingdom, he also wrote Who's Afraid of Postmodernism? and Letters to a Young Calvinist. He is a Senior Fellow with Cardus and editor of Comment Magazine.
Jamie and his wife Deanna have been sweethearts since elementary school. They have four children and live in Grand Rapids.
