SPU's Game Creation Studio for Beginners

Offered by SPU’s Engineering and Computer Science department, SPU’s Game Creation Studio for Beginners is a one-week summer camp designed for ninth–11th graders (as of autumn 2019) interested in learning basic game creation techniques. No coding experience necessary.

  • Learn to use GameMaker
  • Create a storyline for a game
  • Learn basic graphic editing of sprites
  • Design your own game

You will learn basic development techniques using an intuitive game development tool. You’ll learn more about computer science as a career and hear from professionals in the entertainment software development industry. You’ll develop a game of your own with help from SPU students and professors. And you’ll have the chance to present your creations

Dates: July 15–19, 2019
Time: 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (day camp)
Location: Seattle Pacific University campus
Cost: $525 (before March 1); $675 (after March 1)

Full payment due at registration. Includes a $75 nonrefundable camp fee.

Get a $1,000 tuition scholarship and earn one credit for attending Game Studio Creation!

  • Game Studio participants who enroll in SPU will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship for their first academic year. 
  • Participants will also earn one University credit ($753 value).
