Instructor of Voice
Bernard Kwiram has been making and teaching music for over 30 years. His students have performed throughout the Northwest and beyond with companies such as the Seattle Opera, Portland Opera, Tacoma Opera, Teatro ZinZanni, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and many others. He has worked extensively in the field of Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) as a coach, vocal instructor, production consultant, and vocal rehabilitation specialist. An award-winning choral conductor, Mr. Kwiram has conducted high school, college, and adult ensembles — both amateur and professional — in styles ranging from early music to jazz and pop.
As a singer, Mr. Kwiram has performed many styles of music, including opera, operetta, musical theatre, oratorio, jazz, pop/rock, contemporary a cappella, and country. He has appeared in roles with the Seattle Opera, the Everett Symphony Orchestra, Mock’s Crest Productions, and the Leavenworth Summer Theatre, among other companies. Currently, Mr. Kwiram is the maestro for Tacoma Opera and Puget Sound Concert Opera, and the music director and conductor of the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society.
