Dr. Yuliya Minina, a Ukrainian-born pianist, is an active soloist, teacher, and collaborative performer. Dr. Minina grew up in Odessa, Ukraine, where he started to learn piano at the age of 5 with Eleonora Levinzon at the Stolyarskiy Music School-Lyceum, a boarding school for musically gifted children. She completed her undergraduate studies with Tatiana Shevchenko at the Odessa Music Academy, where Dr. Minina was awarded a Specialist degree in Piano Performance with distinction.
Dr. Minina finished her Master of Fine Arts program at the University of California, Irvine, where she was working with professor Nina Scolnik. At UC Irvine, Dr. Minina received a fellowship for international students and served as a teaching assistant for two years. She won a scholarship from the Medici Circle that allowed her to participate in the Kyiv School of Performance Mastery during the summer of 2006. In 2008, she was selected to attend Prague International Piano Masterclasses in Prague, Czech Republic. Dr. Minina played in master classes with Faina Lushtak, Menahem Pressler, Vadim Rudenko, Mykola Suk, Logan Skelton, Eugene Pridonoff, Volker Banfield, and Boaz Sharon.
Dr. Minina recently finished a doctor of musical arts program with Craig Sheppard in the School of Music at the University of Washington, Seattle, where she received several scholarships and served as a graduate student accompanist.
