Mr. Suchan holds a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Montana State University Billings, where he studied with Dorothea Cromley. In 2013 he graduated from the University of Washington with his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance under the direction of Dr. Robin McCabe.
After participating in the Music Teacher National Association competition, Mr. Suchan premiered as a soloist with the Billings Symphony under the baton of Anne Harrigan. Other performances include Stravinskyʼs Symphony of Psalms with the University of Washington Symphony and Chorale under the baton of Dr. Jonathan Pasternack and Dr. Geoffrey Boers. In March 2012, Mr. Suchan performed with the UW Wind Ensemble for the Winds for Hope concert located at Benaroya Hall.
The world of contemporary and modern music is also important to Mr. Suchan. Learning and performing Joan Towerʼs “Black Topaz” for a colleague’s DMA lecture recital, were a highlight for him. Mr. Suchan has also performed with the Seattle Modern Orchestra. He has performed new works written for his colleagues. Mr. Suchan’s commitment and passion for music while working with others are shown through his hard work and dedication.
