Join us for an evening of contemporary and ethnic percussion music featuring the SPU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dan Adams; and special guests the SPU Flute Ensemble, directed by Sandra Saathoff. The concert is Tuesday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. in E.E. Bach Theatre, McKinley Hall. Free and wheelchair accessible.
Experience historical rope drumming on period instruments — including Colgrass' “Percussion Music,” Rouse's “Ogoun Badagris,” and Glassock's “Factions” — and traditional drumming of the Bambara Ethnic Group of Mali, West Africa. The Flute Ensemble will also be performing.
