  • Alumna Returns to Campus

    Alumna Doris Brougham ’53, one the leading English language teachers in Asia and co-founder of an international gospel radio and television network, returns to campus on Thursday, April 3, 11:10 a.m.–12 p.m. at First Free Methodist Church for a special event with the Heavenly Melody Choir. There will be a community reception following the event in the Fine Center at the church.

  • In Memoriam: Neil Lieurance

    Former Adjunct Professor of Music Neil Lieurance died March 9. Lieurance taught at SPU from 2005 to 2012, directing the Women’s Choir, teaching sight-singing and ear-training, and supervising music education student-teachers.

  • "Futures in Music" With Conductor Gerard Schwarz

    The "Futures in Music" lecture series welcomes Seattle Symphony Conductor Laureate Gerard Schwarz on Monday, March 3, 6-7 p.m. at First Free Methodist Church, adjacent to campus. He will talk about leadership in music, and offer insights from his nearly 50 years as a respected classical musician and conductor. This event is free and wheelchair accessible.

    "Futures in Music" explores vocation with some of Seattle’s most renowned artists. This lecture series is made possible by the Seattle Pacific University Spiritual and Educational Resources for Vocational Exploration (SERVE) program.

  • Buon Divertimento Concert February 1

    As part of SPU’s Homecoming Weekend 2014, enjoy a delightful afternoon of instrumental music featuring SPU’s String Quartet, Brass Choir, and Symphony Orchestra. The concert features SPU alumnus and violinist Jason Moody performing Ravel’s “Tzigane” on Saturday, February 1, at 2 p.m. at First Free Methodist Church. The performance is free and wheelchair accessible.
