Center for Applied Learning

Seattle buildings

Seattle Pacific University’s Center for Applied Learning has built strong ties to the Puget Sound business community. Its Mentor, Service Learning, Internship, and Entrepreneurship programs each provide a unique opportunity for both graduate and undergraduate students to put faith into practical action within the business world.

Engaging the Culture, Changing the World

The Center for Applied Learning is a key component of SPU’s commitment to graduating students of competence and character, and delivering a top-notch business education infused with ethics and values.

Through the Center, you’ll gain real-world experience, seasoned with the insight of successful business executives and professionals. As you move through the experiential, hands-on learning programs, you will find the tools needed to make a lasting, positive impact in the marketplace.

For instance, a major component of the Entrepreneurship program in the Center for Applied Learning is the yearly Social Venture Program Competition, which offers cross-disciplinary student teams a chance to develop their best ideas for an entrepreneurial project that addresses a social need.

Three SPU students won first place in the annual Social Venture Plan Competition with an innovative project they called Protosong. The idea? Donate money to a cause and get rewarded with a playlist of music.
