Events
The School of Business and Economics brings leading business and civic leaders to SPU several times a year, giving students and others an opportunity to listen and learn. In this venue, Seattle Pacific students hear from diverse individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds.
Distinguished Speaker Series (Annual)
The Distinguished Speaker Series is an annual event that brings a prominent national or regional business leader to SPU’s School of Business and Economics. Through this program, decision makers, risk takers, and leaders of the regional and national corporate world share their personal experiences and philosophies with students.
Students and faculty receive real-world insight into the issues they regularly explore in the classroom. Bradley Tilden, president and CEO of Alaska Air Group Inc., was the 2012 speaker.
Dean’s Speaker Series (Quarterly)
Sponsored by the School of Business and Economics' Center for Applied Learning, the Dean's Speaker Series brings prominent regional business and civic leaders to campus every quarter.
Students ― who are themselves aspiring business leaders and entrepreneurs ― have an opportunity to hear from prominent local and regional businesspeople and civic leaders who share their stories and serve as role models. The School reinforces the notion that the practice of business is truly interdisciplinary.
Over the years our Dean's speakers have come from for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental roles. Students are encouraged to look for connections between the subjects they are studying and the stories they are hearing.
