Center for Applied Learning
Seattle Pacific University’s Center for Applied Learning has built strong ties to the Puget Sound business community. Its Mentor and Entrepreneurship programs provide unique opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students to put faith into practical action within their chosen fields.
Engaging the Culture, Changing the World
The Center for Applied Learning supports SPU’s commitment to graduate students of competence and character, and SBGE’s mission to educate students in another way of doing business.
Through the Center, you will gain real world experiences, whether that be via our annual Social Venture Plan Competition or our year-round Mentor Program. Utilizing our experiential, hands-on learning programs, you can explore and develop the tools needed to go forth and make a lasting, positive impact in the marketplace and in the world.
The cornerstone of the center’s entrepreneurial programs is our annual Social Venture Plan Competition, which offers cross-disciplinary student teams gathered from all over our campus a chance to develop a sustainable business plan that addresses a real social need. This competition brings all disciplines together to work collaboratively on business plans that can change the world.
Through our Mentor Program, you can seek out the wisdom and guidance of a professional in your chosen field as you wrestle with next steps and how best to navigate your future path.
Whether it be through mentorship with a professional or through our cross-disciplinary entrepreneurship competition, our programs will help you see how what you’ve learned in the classroom will apply to your future.
Music for a Cause
Three SPU students won first place in the annual Social Venture Plan Competition with an innovative project they called Protosong. The idea? Donate money to a cause and get rewarded with a playlist of music.
