Cindy Sink began at SPU in 2009 after 17 years in K-12 education.  Although education was not her first career choice, once started Cindy knew the field was “home”, enjoying both the natural fit and the challenge. That challenge of helping students learn has been practiced in three states (California, Missouri, and Washington) and across grades K-10. Her primary focus has been in the middle school levels in social studies and mathematics.

The transition to university students seemed natural as a way to prepare the next generations for the classroom. She focuses on courses in Teacher Education as well as supervision in the field.

Cindy enjoys community life with her church and family time with her husband and two grown children.

Why I Teach at SPU

Cindy Sink, Clinical Instructor, Teacher Education

"I teach at SPU because striving for excellence is embraced and practiced; however, the context is within the realm of service. The community of SPU models relevant and timely endeavors to best serve the students on campus but with an outward look to those beyond SPU. With this focus in mind, I find it pertinent and essential to teach content with a perspective of humanity ever in the forefront. This encourages me to be not only competent but transparent and relational with those with whom I interact."
