The iPhone is an internet-enabled smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc.  It is capable of accessing the internet and allows users to view messages in their SPU email account.

This document provides instructions for setting up Mail for use with the SPU email. Make sure you have the latest software to connect via the exchange server.

How To:
  1. Tap the Settings icon.
  2. Tap Mail.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  5. Email: your SPU email address (e.g. SPU-Username@spu.edu)
  6. Doman: accounts
  7. Username: SPU-Username
  8. Password: your SPU email/username password
  9. Description: SPU
  10. Tap Next in the upper right.
  11. Tap Accept if "Unable to Verify Certificate" notification appears.
  12. Enter sync.spu.edu as the Server.
  13. Tap Next in the upper right. Email account will be created.
  14. Choose whether to sync contacts and calendars. Existing contacts and calendars will be removed from the iPhone, and replaced with items currently on the Exchange server.
  15. Choose the number of days your iPhone should keep mail messages for.
  16. Tap the back button in the upper left. You should now be configured to access SPU e-mail on your device.
Common Problems:

Q. Can I transfer contacts from my current mobile phone to my new iPhone?
A. Yes. You should first transfer all your contact information to Microsoft Outlook on a PC or Address Book or Entourage on a Mac. Then sync your iPhone with your computer to put your contacts into your iPhone.
