Mail is an email program included with Apple's Mac OS X operating system. 

This document provides instructions for setting up Mail for use with the SPU email server on Snow Leopard 10.6 OSX.

How To:

To Add an Account

  • Open Mail
  • In the tool bar at the top of your screen, click Mail -> Preferences
  • Add New Account -> Type your full email address and password
  • Click Continue to configure your account
    • If the server name doesn't automatically populate, go to Server Info page and follow the IMAP instructions to locate the server settings
  • Return to Preferences and remove the "External Server"
Common Problems:

It is important to remove any SPU account that has older settings prior to updating your email client with the latest settings; removing your email account will not delete any messages you have stored on the server.
