The SPU Download Center allows current faculty, staff and students to download and install campus licensed software to their personal computers. Access to this software is governed by our campus license agreements. Certain software licenses (such as the Microsoft Campus License Agreement) limit the number of downloads to prevent fraud and mis-use. We encourage you to make a backup of the downloaded file in the event you need reinstall the product.

Some of the products on the download site (such as Ad-Aware and Microsoft Windows Defender) simply link to the vendors primary software distribution locations.

Software provided on this site is for the individual use of current SPU faculty, staff, and students and may not be distributed, transferred or sold to others.

How To:
Log in to the Download Center!
You must use your SPU Username and password to login to the SPU Download Center. Only currently registered, degree-seeking, full- or part-time students, and currently employed full- or part-time faculty or staff are eligible to download software from this site.

There are detailed installation instructions provided for each software product. It is strongly recommended that you review these prior to starting the download and installation.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Many of the files associated with the applications available from the SPU Download Center are VERY LARGE.  It is NOT RECOMMENDED that you attempt a download from a wireless network connection or a dial-up modem connection.  Please use a campus wired network connection or a high-speed broadband connection (such as a Cable Modem or a DSL connection) for these large software downloads.

Common Problems:

Download did not complete/Maximum Downloads :
Slow connections, such as dial-up modems or high network traffic conditions, can result in a download time-out. You will need to begin the software download again. There are some situations where you may reach the maximum number of downloads due to failed or incomplete downloads or installations. Contact the CIS HelpDesk for assistance with these types of problems.

Authentication Failed:
If you receive a message indicating your authentication failed you may be using an incorrect username or password to login. The SPU Username is the same as your email address (without the "@spu.edu"). The password is the same as your email password. The SPU Download Center is only available to current SPU faculty, staff and students. Please see the Accounts & Passwords section for more information regarding your SPU Username and Password.

Software requires a license number:
Some downloaded software will still require a license number or registration key to install. Please see the instructions associated with the downloaded software package for the key number. It's a good idea to print out the installation instructions from the Download Center prior to installing the software.

Firewall Settings:
If you have trouble with the actual download (it doesn't complete or appears to hang part way through) it might have to do with a firewall setting. You may need to adjust the firewall and try again.
