Tutoring Options
Tutor-led Study Tables--Trained peer tutors will host rooms where you can ask questions, do homework or study for exams. You don't need to make an appointment. Drop in as often as you want. This services is FREE. Weekly Study Sessions--A trained tutor will lead study sessions where you and other classmates will work as a group to actively review class info, ask questions, and prepare for exams. You don't need to sign up for this group--just come when you want. This service is FREE.
Will I be able to ask my individual questions at CFL Study Tables and Study Sessions?
ANSWER: Yes! At Study Tables, tutors will move from student to student, answering individual and group questions. At Study Sessions, you are welcome to pose individual questions as well. If the tutor cannot answer your question, he or she will be sure to refer you back to your faculty member.
Private Tutoring--For courses that do not have tutor-led Study Tables or Study Groups, the Center for Learning will offer referrals to tutors, many recommended by their faculty members, to be Private Tutors for particular courses. The cost for this service varies. Stop by the Center for Learning (Lower Moyer Hall) for tutor names, contact info, and costs.
What if I want a guaranteed one-hour tutoring session for one of the courses covered by CFL Study Tables or Study Sessions?
ANSWER: You are welcome to contact your faculty member or the Center for Learning for a private tutoring referral. Costs for these private services are variable.
