Celebrating Four Decades of Dedication
Forty years have passed since that fledgling group of college students resolved that it was time for a rowing program at Seattle Pacific. It took immense dedication for these twenty men and fourteen young women to overcome the resistance from nearly every quarter to make that happen, but then what characteristic more describes our sport and this program than dedication? The commitment of disciplined men and women over these four decades has sustained this program, every single person who has pulled, prodded, and pitched in is part of the rich tradition we call Seattle Pacific Crew. We want all of you to come celebrate with us as we joyfully ring in the 2012 racing season which will be the completion of our 40th year! Our Homecoming on Saturday January 28th 2012 will be one to remember and we sincerely hope all of you can make it.
Dee Hawes Cup Race: We will begin the day in standard fashion with alumni and novice races and we welcome all who wish to participate to join in. Given the high demand of this event and the increased numbers of alumni adding each year, we ask that you reserve your seat by contacting the head coach at email@example.com and indicating that you want a port, starboard, or coxswain's position. We will make every attempt to get those who want to a race, Eights and Fours may both be raced so as to accommodate all. Don't forget to bring your rowing attire if you want to race!
