The Center supports faculty scholarship through a variety of programs. SPU encourages, supports, and rewards four distinct yet overlapping types of faculty scholarship: the scholarship of discovery, the scholarship of teaching, the scholarship of application, and the scholarship of synthesis.
Besides administering several internally funded research grants, the Center also assists faculty in locating, writing, and applying for external grants that support teaching, scholarly, and creative projects. It houses an academic grants officer, Laura Lundahl, who is available to consult, advise, and assist faculty in their pursuit of outside funding. Faculty who plan to apply for external support should submit an Intent to Apply form, including their dean's signature, at least three weeks before the application deadline.
