The Center for Scholarship and Faculty Development serves as the central administrative office for the Spiritual and Education Resources for Vocational Exploration (SERVE) program.

The SERVE program represents the continuing efforts of Seattle Pacific University to support theological thought about vocational choices among students, faculty, and staff. From 2002-2009, with the support of two major grants from the Lilly Endowment Inc., the Center has administered numerous programs across campus to assist people to think about their lives in terms of vocation rather than career.

Many of these programs have been fully incorporated into campus life and are now partially funded through the Center’s SERVE program. In addition, SERVE awards sub-grants to academic, campus life, and other units of the University for specific projects in vocational exploration.
