The Center for Scholarship and Faculty Development serves as the central administrative office for the Spiritual and Education Resources for Vocational Exploration (SERVE) program.

The Spiritual and Educational Resources for Vocational Exploration (SERVE) program represents the efforts of Seattle Pacific University to support theological thought and action around the concepts of vocation and calling for students, faculty, and staff. Two major grants from the Lilly Endowment Inc. provided funding for vocational projects from fall 2002 - spring 2009. Beginning in the fall of 2009 SPU has fully funded the SERVE Program.

SERVE Grants are awarded each spring to support faculty and staff exploration of the theological aspects and implications of Christian vocation. SERVE Grants can be used for research and applied projects associated with enhancing the understanding and practice of Christian vocation.  Typical awards range from two to five thousand dollars.  Applications are due March 1, 2013.
