The Nutrition in Sports and Exercise emphasis provides a broad background in food and nutritional sciences, along with further study of exercise science and the specialized nutritional requirements for physically active individuals. Dietetics students wishing a more in-depth background in exercise science may select this emphasis in addition to the DPD. Application to the Major
Students apply to the major after successful completion of the prerequisite science courses and either FCS 2365 Food Science or FCS 3340 Human Nutrition. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for admission to the major with this emphasis.
Major Status Applications are due the first Friday of Autumn, Winter, and Spring Quarters.
