The Theatre Department produces an annual four-show season of Mainstage and Studio productions. These plays and musicals are curated based on a four-year cycle that provides students with a broad exposure to a variety of genres and styles. SPU Theatre productions are open to all students — both majors and non-majors — who make up the casts and crews for these productions. Additionally, students have opportunities to be involved with directing, design, production, stage management, and publicity.
Academic scholarship in theatre at Seattle Pacific will expose you to a broad cross-section of dramatic literature, theory, and historical perspective. You will develop an informed perspective of the role of theatre as a social, spiritual, and artistic institution and your place in it.
