Declaring a Major or Minor. Formal
admission to a major
in theatre is accomplished:
·
at the end of the first quarter of the sophomore year, ·
or in case of transfer students beyond the sophomore level, in the
second quarter of residence,
·
completion of 12 credits of work with a 2.5 GPA in theatre, which must include TRE 1310 Actor's Art (5) OR TRE 1340 Acting One (5) and TRE 1720 Stagecraft (5),
·
completion and submission of the application
for admission to the major form, ·
theatre faculty approval of the application. Students
seeking a major in the study of theatre must also fulfill the
following requirements: - earn
a minimum of 70 credits in theatre studies and applications, with
- a
minimum of 30 upper-division credits.
- Demonstrate
a growing ability in theatrical criticism, artistic awareness and personal theatrical
skills.
- Successful
completion of a Senior
Project in acting, directing, playwriting, or design. (See C.3.
Planning Your Senior Project for details.) Other options for projects
may be considered through discussion and approval of a prospectus by theatre chair
and faculty.
Formal
admission to a minor
in theatre is accomplished:

at the end of the first quarter of the sophomore year, ·
or in case of transfer students beyond the sophomore level, in the
second quarter of residence, ·
completion and submission of the application
for admission to the minor form,
·
theatre faculty approval of the application. Students
seeking a minor
in the study of theatre must also fulfill the following requirements:
- earn
a minimum of 35 credits in theatre studies and applications, with
- a
minimum of 15 upper-division credits.
- Demonstrate
a growing ability in theatrical criticism, artistic awareness and personal theatrical
skills.
