Urban Involvement: Neighborhood House Tutoring

Time: Tuesdays, 3:15-6:30 PM

Description: The Neighborhood House Youth Tutoring & Resource Center works with refugee/immigrant students after-school to engage and empower them in their community. We not only offer homework help and tutoring, but our students work on writing projects that will help build academic skill and develop their sense of self, while shaping the community at the same time.

We are youth-focused and youth-led. We work hard to build our program community into a safe space that is “helpful, not hurtful” and provides opportunity for students to become genuine leaders in the program. We need tutors to help develop students on this path to leadership and self-sufficiency.
