2009-2010 Housing Sign-Up

Signing Up With a New Student

If you choose to sign up with a new freshman or transfer student for Autumn 2009, you must verify that he or she has submitted an online Campus Housing Application and a $300 room deposit. (Note: First-time freshmen are eligible for the residence halls; transfer students are eligible for the campus apartments.)

It is also necessary that the student completes a Room and Meal Plan Contract. It is your responsibility to make arrangements with Housing Services to have the paperwork sent and to ensure that your roommate
completes the contract by the deadlines listed below for the type of unit you are reserving.

  • RESIDENCE HALLS. Your roommate’s contract must be received at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. If so, you may paick up a Non-Residential Roommate Pass at OUS on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • CAMPUS APARTMENTS. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate’s contract by the time you submit your group application. His or her seniority points will be calculated and the contract attached to your application.

Signing Up With a Student on a Study Program Spring 2009
Continuing students who are on SPU-approved Spring 2009 study programs typically complete housing paperwork prior to leaving on their program. If you plan to sign up with a student on a study program, follow the directions below for the type of unit you are reserving:

  • RESIDENCE HALLS. Contact Housing Services at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. If the student has completed the appropriate paperwork, a Non-Residential Roommate Pass will be available at OUS for you to pick up on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • CAMPUS APARTMENTS. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate’s paperwork by the time you submit your group application. His or her seniority points will be calculated and the paperwork attached to your application.

Signing Up With a Commuter Student
Residents may choose to sign up with a commuter student who has been admitted to SPU, is registered for Spring 2009, and plans to be registered for Autumn 2009. It is your responsibility to ensure that your roommate picks up a Room and Meal Plan Contract at OUS and completes the contract by the deadlines listed below for the type of unit you are reserving.

  • RESIDENCE HALLS. Your roommate’s contract must be received at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. Although commuters can attend sign-up events, they must submit
a contract in advance so their senority points can be calculated. If the contract is received by the deadline, you may obtain a Non-Residential Roommate Pass at OUS on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • CAMPUS APARTMENTS. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate’s contract by the time you submit your group application. His or her seniority points will be calculated and the contract attached to your application.
