Welcome to the Student Counseling Center website. The staff of the SCC are dedicated to student well-being and providing services collaboratively with compassion, respect, and sensitivity to students' unique challenges and cultural backgrounds.

SCC SUMMER STATUS: June 16th to Sept. 29th, 2014:

We have therapists available during the summer months although the Student Counseling Center is not fully operational over the summer. If you are an SPU undergraduate and are either:

(1) Taking summer classes OR

(2) Were enrolled in the Spring Quarter and plan to enroll in the upcoming Fall Quarter,

we are available to you to provide a counseling assessment. If there is space available and your situation is such that SCC services are appropriate for your needs, counseling services may be provided as well.

Since we are only open this summer on a scheduled-appointment basis, it is best to call our central number (206) 281-2657 to schedule an assessment appointment. When you call, please press 0 to leave a message for our summer staff with your name and number and the best time to reach you.

Have a great summer!

Please Note: Our full array of services are available (free of charge) to currently enrolled SPU undergraduate students.

  • For SPU graduate students: we are available for professional referrals to various community-based services, therapists, or organizations. Many of these mental health professionals are committed to reducing their fees for enrolled SPU students.
  • For a guide to locating a therapist as well as community resources click on "Resources" (above) and then "Click HERE for a Community Resources Guide".

  • For additional assistance in locating appropriate resources you may also call and request to speak to a Student Counseling Center therapist.

If this is an immediate health-related emergency, call 911 or Campus Security at 281-2911.  If this is a mental-health crisis, call the Crisis Clinic 24-hour crisis line at (206) 461-3222.

Please review the rest of our website to learn about the many services provided by the Student Counseling Center.
