Support for the Washington ProTeach Portfolio Assessment

As of September 1, 2011, all teachers who hold a residency certificate are required to take the Washington ProTeach Portfolio Assessment to obtain their professional certificate before their residency certificate expires.  All of the materials needed to develop the required portfolio of evidence are available on the ProTeach website at http://www.waproteach.com

Candidates for this assessment are not required to take additional coursework, however, SPU will offer a support program through many partner districts and private institutions in the region and online for those desiring assistance.  We encourage you to preview the ProTeach website, candidate guide, and registration information to decide what course of action is right for you.  For more information about the SPU ProTeach Support Program, email procert@spu.edu.

Administrator Professional Certification

SPU's Administrator Professional Certification is a one-year, cohort-based professional learning community program. Candidates' growth plans and projects are based on specific school or district contexts and improvement initiatives. Doctoral-level credits are available as an option.

SPU's program will be offering cohorts on the SPU campus, and in Olympia. Cohorts may also be available in your district through our partnership program.
