Prospective Students: Program Sequence

Course Sequence

Clinical Psychology classroomTo graduate with a doctorate, each student must complete 204 quarter units of courses, which include

  • 32 units of dissertation
  • Two one-year, part-time practicum placements
  • A full-time, one-year internship
A master of arts in psychology (M.A.; the first two years of 77 quarter credits) is earned en route to the doctorate.

Cognate Courses

In addition to clinical psychology core courses, and the family psychology and health psychology cognate courses, students in the clinical psychology doctoral program can choose to take the organizational cognate in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program.
