"Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Review of Phenomenology, Diagnosis and Evidenced Based Treatments"

This presentation will describe signs and symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
There will be a review of co-occurring disorders. Best practice regarding making the diagnosis will be considered.
The course of the disorder over time will be discussed. There will be a review of evidenced based treatments.
At the close of the presentation there will be an opportunity for audience participation.


About the Speaker:

Dr. Varley is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. He is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is also the Program Director for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program at UW SOM. His research interests are in pediatric psychopharmacology and he is the Director of a clinic for children and adolescents with complex attention deficit hyperactivity disorder at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
