Why are babies so interesting? Studying the behavior of infants provides us with a way to explore the multiple and interacting factors that contribute to how we become who we are as adults. Infants are both amazingly complex, and refreshingly simple. While they can’t tell us much through language, we can tell a lot about what they are thinking and feeling by looking at their behavior. Even a simple glance can tell us a lot about an infant’s perceptual preferences, emotional state, or quality of attachment.
