Painted Into a Corner:

Women, Art and Social Bondage

Explore the themes behind an engaging new Seattle Art Museum exhibit with SPU faculty and students

The first 50 attendees will have an opportunity to purchase a ticket to the Seattle Art Museum, including this exhibit and others, for $5 (original value: $12 for students, $23 for adults).

Thursday, November 29

2–3 p.m.

Demaray Hall 150

This event centers on the Seattle Art Museum's new exhibit from the Centre Pompidou in Paris.  This collection challenges the "mainstream" notion of art in a male-dominated world.  SPU faculty, Dr. Katie Kresser, will address the economic, societal, and psychological bondage evidenced through the collection.  A panel of SPU students will interact with these issues as they influence their own lives.

This exhibit will be on display at SAM until January 13, 2013.
