2013 Commencement Schedule

Description: Cutting

Friday, June 7

9:30–10:30 a.m., Tiffany Loop

Ivy Cutting has been part of graduation rites at SPU since 1922. The ceremony represents both the students' tie to SPU and the independence that comes with graduation.


Friday, June 7

7:30–8:30 p.m., Royal Brougham Pavilion

Baccalaureate is an informal worship service shared by graduates and their families, friends, and professors.



Sunday, June 9

2–5 p.m., Key Arena

Arena doors will open at 12:45 p.m.  Tickets are required for all guests (age 3 and over).

Spring Rites Concert

10:30 a.m.–1 p.m., First Free Methodist Church

A come-and-go-as-you-will performance featuring 35 chamber music premieres produced as the final exit exam by SPU musicians studying the craft of music.  Questions?  Contact Brian Chin.

Senior Interior Design Portfolio Show

4–7 p.m., Upper Gwinn

Housing & Gwinn Closures

- Gwinn Closes for Summer Break at 6pm on Thursday.

- Undergraduates must check out of residence halls by 4 p.m. on Friday.

- Graduating seniors must check out of campus housing by 8 p.m. on Sunday.

SPU Payment Plan Is Online

The 2013-2014 Payment Plan application is available to all students online through their Banner account after registration for Autumn Quarter classes.  The payment plan divides a student's quarterly charges into three equal installments per quarter.  The application deadline is September 13.  Read more about payment options and methods.
