Dale Anderson, Director of Student Programs

Email: dale@spu.edu Phone: 206-281-2483

Dale is a Seattle native, with a BA in Theatre from Seattle Pacific University and a M.Ed. in Student Development Administration from Seattle University.  Over the years he has worked on a commercial fishing boat, as a ski instructor, and painting the lines in parking lots.  He lives in the Silver Lake area with his wife Kelly and their teenage daughter Meg.   Their eldest son Chris is a current SPU student, and their second son, Nolan, is a student at Westmont University.  An avid outdoor enthusiast, Dale loves spending time outside in the Pacific Northwest fishing, hunting, hiking, boating and skiing.  He also loves good food, cooking with ghost peppers, and quality time with dear family and friends.  His love of Student Programs is evident by his statement "Every day I get to work with students.  It is a privilege to be part of a student's life, growth and development as they work in and lead the many student programs vital to SPU.  These experiences are examples of an active learning model that includes reflection, integration and application. For many students these are the defining moments of their college experience."

Whitney Broetje, Campus Program Coordinator

Email: broetw@spu.edu Phone: 206-281-2831

Whitney is from Yakima, WA. (also known as Yakivegas, or the Palm Springs of WA “I’m not even kidding”, she says) where her two amazing parents, wonderful grandparents, and countless cousins live.   She earned her degree in Psychology at Seattle Pacific University and an M.Ed. in Student Development Administration at Seattle University.  Whitney's hobbies and passions include exploring Seattle coffee shops, laughing, exclamations like “Yatzee!”, “Olè!”, “Check Please” etc., hiking, playing the piano, and trying to be artsy. She also hopes to own a moped and drive it on cobblestone streets in Italy someday.  Whitney loves working with college students and watching them think outside of the box and do new and exciting things that impact the SPU and Seattle community.  “I love meeting new students and their parents during Welcome Week and seeing the new energy hit campus,” she says.

Kristen Voetmann, Campus Program Coordinator

Email: voetmannk@spu.edu Phone: 206-281-2689

Kristen has finally returned to her beloved Northwest after spending the last chapter of her life working and studying in Southern California.  including a year abroad in Italy, Kristen graduated with her English Literature B.A. from Pepperdine University and then pursued her College Counseling and Student Development, M.S. at Azusa Pacific University.  If she is not curled up with a good book, you will likely find her exploring new coffee shops, hiking, skiing, or planning her next travel adventure.  "It is an honor ro be serving the students, staff, and faculty at SPU," she says. Kristen continually seeks opportunities to foster student development through collaboration - be it in or out of the classroom - and is excited to see the great work already being done at SPU!

Kathi Snyder, Administrative Assistant & Editor of Loopy Student e-news

Email: snyderk@spu.edu, loopy-editor@spu.edu

Phone: 206-281-2247

Kathi is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.  She began working at SPU after several years in the social work field working with adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness.  She is thrilled to be at SPU and greatly misses the students during the academic breaks!  Kathi has a strong fondness for coffee, chocolate, and sappy Christmas movies.  Seattle is a great fit for Kathi, as she looks forward to the rain, dislikes snow, and loves colorful umbrellas and rainboots.  She and her husband, Michael, live in Ballard and proudly (stubbornly?) do not own a car and instead usually get around Seattle by bus, on foot, or by bicycle.  Kathi and Michael are excited to meet Baby Snyder in early 2013.
