The fossil limestone that extends
from the buildings exterior into a ground-floor corridor comes from
the world-famous Solnhofen limestone quarries in Bavaria. Also displayed
in the new building is a fossilized fish from these quarries, Leptolepides
sprattlformis, which dates from the late Jurassic period.
