With James Bryan Smith, DMin

Executive Director of the Apprentice Institute, Professor of Theology, and Bestselling Author

James Bryan Smith is a theology professor at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, and a writer and speaker in the area of Christian spiritual formation. He also serves as the director of the Apprentice Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation at Friends University. He holds a master of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School and a doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Seminary.

A founding member of Richard J. Foster’s spiritual renewal ministry, Renovaré, Smith is an ordained United Methodist Church minister and has served in various capacities in local churches. He is the author of more than a dozen books, including The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love With the God Jesus Knows; Room of Marvels; The Kingdom and the Cross; and Hidden in Christ: Living as God’s Beloved.

In a presentation designed especially for pastors and other church leaders, Dr. Smith will talk about spiritual formation and transformation.
